The three-lingual play “I Speak of Me as I Am. A Necessary Intervention ” was performed at Bayreuth’s Reichshof-Theater in June. It brought Shakespeare’s Black characters: Othello, Caliban, Cleopatra, and Lucy into powerful conversation with African stories and postcolonial critique.

The third and final day of the Cluster's conference was all about exchange and networking as participants listened and engaged in insightful panels and found time to discuss afterwards. It ended with a roundtable debating "African Futurist Visions in Black Feminist and Afro-Feminist Scholarship".

On the second conference day the Cluster presented the opening of the exhibition "From Oblivion to Memory: Transatlantic Memorial Echoes" at Iwalewahaus, @unibayreuth.bsky.social . The exhibition explores the transatlantic past's enduring impact through texts, video, photography, and painting.

The second day of the annual Cluster conference saw numerous interesting and insightful panels and lectures on the topics of "African youths" and "mobility". This year's participants came from all over the world to experience the conference in the new FZA building at @unibayreuth.bsky.social.
