My generation is now experiencing the same feeling our parents felt when there was a pop culture focus on the decades of their childhood. In my case, it's the 80's and 90's.

How to tell you're from Maryland: You watch Culinary Class Wars season 2 and see a Blue Crab battle and EVEN IF YOU DON'T EAT SEAFOOD, you know they should have used Old Bay.

Watching Nero Wolfe(1981 TV) and I am reminded of something I really like about the character. And that is he doesn't even pretend he has any fucks to give. He cares about good food, his orchids, and his friends/employees roughly in that order.

Everyone goes on about this movie being a Christmas movie and that movie being a Christmas movie but nobody focuses on how many Christmas movies are time travel movies.

Watch Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper!(2025). It's cute, it's funny, it has a Santa eye patch, it's just a fun Christmas movie.

People say Hallmark movies are unrealistic, and to a degree they are. But the ones that are REALLY unrealistic are the Not-Hallmark movies like A Very British Christmas (2019). It just makes no sense. Like the American acts like once she leaves England, she CAN NEVER RETURN.

While recovering, I found the Hallmark Mysteries channel and have been playing that pretty much constantly. Mostly because holiday stuff, and partially because it's just easy to know the plot.

Christmas Above The Clouds (on Hallmark + currently) is I feel an excellent romantic adaptation and update of A Christmas Carol. There are changes which make sense, like making Ellie Nezzer a travel CEO as opposed to a landlord, but overall it fits pretty well.

One thing you forget when you grew up in the 80's that you only remember when you watch media from then is how there was a time when all music for shows and films sounded like the composer just got a Casio keyboard. And because of that, ALL of the music came from it.

I'm going to say something that I don't think is controversial. I think that health insurance/the medical establishment should change the age for all cancer screenings to 30. Simply because more and more people are being found to have a cancer younger than even 45.

Assignment: Redhead(1956) has to have one of the best plot synopsis I've seen since The Amazing Transparent Man didn't pay out with the army of zombie hamsters. The term "seductive accordion player" was all I needed to start watching.

Had to stop playing Victor Vran because, well, I just wasn't feeling any progression. It was like I was at endgame for Diablo 4 where you've beaten the game and there's nothing to do. And I was maybe halfway through? Maybe? Which is sad because the concept and controls are good.

So I heard a few days ago that one of the top rated songs on I think Spotify was AI generated, and I have to wonder how can someone make money from this? I ask because I've written like 100 songs on the AI song app (not great songs but still), and passive income is always nice.

It's funny how much of my childhood media centered around cool vehicles. Dukes of Hazzard: cool car. Knight Rider: cool computer car. Transformers: cool cars turn into robots. Voltron: cool robots turn into bigger robot. And on and on.
