A chance encounter on a dark and miserable day. It was wet and cloudy and then a Red Kite brightened up my day.

Just before we left Donna Nook a battle between 2 evenly matched males took place right next to the footpath. It was too close & I couldn't get far enough away. As they fought the battle scars got more serious. It was nature at its most raw.

While at Donna Nook watching the Grey Seals do their thing, out on the mud flats another animal was looking out for lunch.

What a brilliant trip to Donna Nook at the weekend. Lots of pups getting fat & mothers taking care of their young ones.

What a fabulous walk we had yesterday. The River Bradford is almost dry but did manage to see all 3 of the water loving birds. Dipper, Grey Wagtail and this lovely Kingfisher, plus lots more. Chiffchaff, GS Woodpecker, Treecreeper, Red Kite, Stonechat, Siskin and many more.

Fabulous day with a group looking for Bearded Reedlings. We had great views plus some other great species too. Golden Plover, Long-tailed Tit with Ruff & Water Rail plus many more.

After many visits to the Isle of Mull over the last few years I finally got this bird on my Mull list.

We’ve managed to get off the island before storm Amy hits. A day early, but better safe than sorry.
