The MK2 trailer dropped and… I’m a MK fanboy. Always have been. But Urban’s Cage is weirdly NOT Cage. Cage is cocky beyond the point of annoying & straight to endearing. Passing the eye exams for a FL driver’s license is a joke. Most of it is answering questions on an honor system. RENEWING a FL driver’s license while overseas is insanity. You have to get a certified optometrist/ophthalmologist and I need TWO appointments for all the bullshit they’re asking.

You know how when you take an eye exam and they make you read off letters or numbers of varying sizes? I did that today. In German. Not bad!

One of my least favorite tropes: leaving walkie talkies in walls/hidden so people could whisper and/or listen to people (maybe sleeping). Have these people never had walkie talkies? The range is shit, the batteries are shit, you need to press to talk, etc. A baby monitor is the better option.

Today it like god himself saw that Germany had a fever and cooled us down with a damp cloth to the forehead*. *with torrential rain and hail. Not that I mind. I welcomed it. Didn’t even mind when I got beaned by a block of hail in the head as I ran to my car.

Per a friend, this is telling people not to adopt American phrases and disregard their own language. Pretty interesting stand to take, but I get it. Language is fluid and you nobody - especially a bookstore - wants to see it slip away.

Season 5 of Amazing Race had a real douche named Colin. Season 31 had the same guy but it was a WILDLY different Colin. Dude watched himself, was unsatisfied, and fixed what was wrong. The improvement was DRAMATIC and, honestly, I’m pretty proud of this stranger.
