Coolest thing I've seen at Salute today: this minis version of the classic early-80s Atari arcade game Battlezone. Not the digital-to-tabletop adaptation I'd expected to find, but wow.

I rreplaced the ailing 3 1/2 "A" floppy drive in my #Atari STe today with a NOS replacement from Best Electronics. The drive has been acting up for awhile. Tested it out by booting up a NOS copy of #Battleship that I picked up at #VCF East this past weekend.

In 1982, the local Toys R Us had everything I wanted, Atari computers, Dungeons and Dragons, etc. but I had no money. Now I have the money but there is no Toys R Us. It’s now a Burlington Coat Factory store.

The follow up to the German #Kaiser for the #Atari 8-bit was Kaiser II. This is a fully machine language version of #Kingdom / #Hammurabi. A lot of work went into this one. I haven't translated it to English, so I can't fully play it yet. It is also not up at atarimania.com. It soon will be.

Playing "Kaiser", a pretty version of "Hammurabi" or "Kingdom" on the Atari 8-bit. I translated most of the German to English here github.com/billlange196.... This version is multi-player and mostly uses joystick input rather than keyboard input.
