Present situation.

Cheezy waves goodbye. This will hurt for a very long time.

My beloved Cheezy is on his last legs. He can barely walk, will not eat, hasn't used his box in days, and is withering away. He does not act as if he is in any pain, but it's just awful watching this. I am debating with myself as to whether it might be time to help him across the Rainbow Bridge.

My father died this morning. My elderly kitty has not left me alone all day.

There are mementos...and then, there is this. My forever bestie, Dan McDowell caver, hiker, philosopher, father. Gone now, but forever in our hearts, as memorialized in etched glass. You can't see it, but I am in tears.

There are never enough hours (minutes, seconds) in a day to hug your beloved, to pet a cat, to read a book, to listen to music you love, to engage your passions, to explore Nature. Life is short, bodies age. DO THE THINGS YOU LOVE WHILE YOU ARE ABLE. And...always love each other, unconditionally.
