Did some painting tonight.

Yup. Cost of plane tickets is up. My poor wallet.

Found an air filter spot in my house I didn’t realize was there! The air filter that was in it had been there over five years at least. Talk about nasty. Replaced it quick. Maybe less sneezing now!

And starting my new full time teaching position Monday. Will be nice to be back to a regular good income again after a year. Back to middle school I go!

January 2025. Forced to resign my job. It did me good to get out of where I was and see how things were in other places. I’m a happier person. Had to be careful with money and was lucky enough to be able to get by.

I don’t want to feel dread when I go into work.

And 48. May this year bring good things unlike last year. (Though overall getting out of where I was burnt out was a good thing)

Grrr. It’s frustrating I can’t get interviews for a position in which I’m certified and have great TKES and references, plus I’m a 15 year veteran teacher. With social studies I feel they just look at the fact I taught theater the whole time and just write me off. I know the standards. Grrrr.

Feels odd to have 100% on silksong when I still haven’t beaten last boss of act 3 yet. It felt really good to get through Coral Tower in one go my first try without dying though. All those arenas before the boss were ugh.

Nothing much exciting to report. Had another interview but doesn’t seem like I got it. Hoping for more opportunities. Subbing has been not fun. On the positive side it’s shown me that it wasn’t just a me problem in the classroom with kids being placed in theater. They’re like that in any class

Considering a last minute MP stop for next weekend Wondering if anyone might have some space for a lion/dragon.

Starting to get more telegram spam these days. It’s annoying as it was never an issue before.

Tech pals. Considering getting back into IT if education no longer works. I did Tier 1 & 2 tech support for Dell, Data Center Tech and Jr Sys Admin work back in the day though it’s been almost 24 years now. Recommendations? I plan to study back up and get my certs. Help desk is fine to begin.

Didn’t get any of the recent round of job interviews. At least I got an email though. Sometimes I think that’s a worse. When you don’t hear back then hey there’s a sliver of hope as opposed to the email saying you weren’t selected.

Two interviews done. First one felt good. 2nd one I didn’t quite get the vibe. And now another mines up for tomorrow at another place. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Two job interviews Monday. One at 8 and one at 1:30. One is MS and the other is HS. Both social studies. Hoping for some more calls now that we’re at the end of the school year and I still have a bunch of open applications in for area schools in theater and social studies.

Anyone looking for a new bodysuit for their fursuit? I’m open for work with fairly quick turn around.

It’s annoying when you’re waiting on references from folks at the old job when you can’t submit your application for a new one until they’ve been turned in. Ugh.

Bleh. All the paperwork and documents you have to submit to just apply for a teaching position. I’d forgotten how much work is involved.

Well cowardly lion is done now except for finishing off the hood. Wooo. For the hours I out into it it’s been kinda nice being unemployed in January. lol. Maybe I’ll just go ahead and start on the dragon body next!

Got the last things out of my old classroom today. So this chapter is now behind me. Now to focus on getting a new position and finding something in the interim, or move into something career adjacent.

And working on the body for the cowardly lion. No special padding or anything. So just plantigrade goodness.

Ugh. Lost my set design/builder and light design guy who’d been busy doing all that work for me. Now I have to pick up the slack and get all that finished, and design and program the lights. Right before tech week! Not what you want when your show opens in 11 days
