This morning, children brightened the KS2 playground with colorful chalk messages, offering heartfelt support and encouragement to our Year 6 pupils as they begin their SATs this week.

On 8th May, the whole school celebrated VE Day with a special assembly. Pupils dressed in red, white and blue, and the school was decorated with colourful bunting. At 12pm, everyone joined together to observe a respectful two-minute silence.

We are delighted to have been accepted on the Grow Smart pilot program for Food Growing with Sheffield Schools, supported by Learn Sheffield and Food Works. Many thanks to Maddy and all the team at Food Works Norton for supporting nature-friendly food-growing in our city.

On Sunday, some of the Y5 staff, children and parents joined the amazing Walkley Wombles on their monthly litter pick. The next Walkley Wombles litter pick will be on Sunday June 1st at 11am. Check out their Facebook page for more information. Litter pickers and bags are provided.

Last week, Year 3 welcomed Rio, a therapy dog from Pets As Therapy. The children enjoyed stroking and grooming Rio, while also asking the trainer lots of fascinating questions about the dog’s role and how therapy animals help others.

Many thanks to Wickes Sheffield North for their generous donation of gardening equipment for school.

Year 3 students designed owl-themed cardboard projects in their Design and Technology lesson. The hands-on activity combined creativity and mechanics, helping children understand simple levers and linkages. Excited and proud, each student showcased their unique owl with flapping wings.

Year 6 have been working on improving their SPAG knowledge, particularly different verb tenses this week. They have worked well finding the differences between past and present progressive, perfect and simple tense. SPAG superstars!
