Room 5 celebrated #ScotlandLovesLanguages week by wearing our own clothes to celebrate different cultures, spinning a globe to learn facts about Italy, and mapping countries we are connected to! 🌎

Room 10 are learning about India. Children drew their own versions of the Taj Mahal using charcoal and focused on the visual element of line.

Room 7 celebrated #ScotlandLovesLanguages week by exploring a world map. We each had the opportunity to dot a place on the map that we or our families had a connection to. Look at all of the countries that is special to our class 🌍💙

We loved sharing a bedtime story with some of our Primary 2 children and families tonight. We are looking forward to seeing more of you in a few weeks. ✨ 📚

Primary 5 were learning about famous landmarks during #ScotlandLovesLanguages Week. 🗺️

Children in our ELCC started the week celebrating Dolly’s 80th Birthday! The boys and girls love receiving books from The Dolly Parton Imagination Library. 📕🐛

Room 9 have been busy all week with all things Scots and Rabbie Burns! We created Scots Pop Art, clarified unknown Scots words and translated them and created a menu for a Burns Supper with a budget. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Our P6 children showed wonderful kindness at the park today, supporting our nursery children and celebrating their achievements. A lovely example of our school values.

Primary 7 have been learning about the use of sirens in WW2 and exploring how they can create their own. We used straws to blow air through the holes as our plates spun quickly on a motor! 🚨 #creativity #STEM @skillsdevscot.bsky.social @mrshanniganht.bsky.social

It was lovely to see the children from Primary 7 at mass today as they prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Thank you Father Paul for our bottles of Holy Water to bless our homes 🙏🏻

In Primary 7 we are learning how to use positional language! We created our own maze for a Lego character and had another pair of friends write what the instructions would be. 👷‍♂️🧭

Today we explored Talk for Writing through the Mr Wiggle and Mr Waggle story. Lots of actions and confident story telling as children joined in and retold the story. 📕🐛

The construction area was busy today as children confidently shared instructions, negotiated roles and took each others ideas forward in their play. UNCRC article 12 children’s voices are heard and valued.

Our primary 6 children have built positive relationships with our youngest learners. They enjoyed exploring the playroom and supporting learning through play.

Children had the opportunity to shine on stage taking part in their Nativity performance. They explored the story through play, movement and music.

Children enjoyed Christmas lunch together, wearing hats, pulling crackers and telling jokes. Thank you to our amazing catering staff.

Children are taking responsibility at lunch time by taking on the role of the lunch leader and helping to set the table. Children explore independence at snack time by serving themselves. Healthy meals and snacks support their right to be healthy (UNCRC Article 24).

Children explored block play through building, balancing, problem solving, sharing ideas and working together. This supports their right to be heard (Article 12).
