Seeing my age-mates do the things that are markers of “womanhood” lowkey activates me sometimes because it makes me feel like I failed. Yes, I failed at womanhood, but not as a person. Unfortunately by society’s standards, those to are tied together— hence my internal struggle.

Thinking about showering right after work or right when I get home from post-work activities, capitalizing on that autistic inertia. Right now showering feels like such a lift, but not feeling clean is enough of a motivation to push through… so hopefully this helps. Thoughts and advice welcome.

Great thread. Learning and doing better is necessary, but so is acknowledging the harm you caused while not burdening anyone else with your education or guilt. Can't get right if you won't get honest and so many of us (myself included) had to grow into being better people than we were.

As a former library worker, yes.

We library folk do a good job talking about all the free services we offer, but I don’t see many of us talking about how libraries are one or the only places where you can use services without being advertised to.
