really should have done this a long time ago but switched over to firefox as my primary browser. there's some extensions I've lost, mainly language reactor (it shows me hiragana readings for japan subs) but i guess i'll keep chrome as my "media" browser and use firefox for everything else

my advisor intervened, now he's writing a full letter for me to verify the pdf's validity and that it's the highest form of confirmation possible from a leading uni publisher. mind you, even my japanese advisor says this is odd but said "they wanted it to come from a non-human entity" 🙄

i sent my grad school a proper pdf from the book's editor confirming its publication plus a publication schedule. and i kid you not they were still not happy with it, requesting more documentation from the publisher themselves!!! do they not know how this works, i dont talk to the publisher😿

the minimum word count at my grad school for a phd thesis is 30k words (yes there's an explanation) and obviously there's not a whole lot of meaningful things you can say in 30k so I set myself to 40k to make the thesis manageable. it quickly grew to 50k and now I'm sure it'll be 60k by the end lol
