Green Day was a perfect close to this years Riot Fest, but the highlight of the day is a tie between a killer DHC set or a very polite T-Rex allowing some folks to get by before going feral in the pit! The low was Hanson getting so delayed I couldn't catch their or Gym Class Heroes' sets.

I got a late start to a great day 2 of Riot Fest! The rain resulted in a change of plans for the evening, but it was awesome seeing All Time Low and The Damned. Highlight: James, hands down. Low point: you'd think it'd be the rain, but no, the humidity. Sweat-drenched in a rain jacket!

I hate bringing backpacks or carrying things at festivals, so here's my cargo-pocket load out: a hat, sunblock that I'll forget to use, sunglasses, water bottle, a money clip with cash and cards, TWO handkerchiefs, and a small rain jacket for the forecasted storms. Fully prepared and non-stylish!

Day 1 of @riot_fest was great. I managed to stick mostly to my plan with some welcome deviations. It turns out watching The Pogues without Shane was too much for me so I switched to Blink. The lowlight of the show was the Weird All crowd. The highlight was Rilo Kiley, so worth the 15(?) year wait.

It's still over a month away, but I'm starting to plan out my must-see and hard choice sets for this year's Riot Fest. Several brutal choices, but I'm so geeked to see James, Rilo Kiley, Dance Hall Crashers, and The Pogues (sadly 2 years late)

A beautiful day out on the water! After yesterday's storms, today's water seems almost flat!

I'm behind on updates because I was apparently too busy IN my weekend to post about it, but the short version: Spin Doctors, Gin Blossoms, and Blues Traveler were all awesome (even in the rain, and even if the BT set was too short)....Superman is OUTSTANDING! I will be seeing it again in theaters!

Last month was one music festival and one local show...this month is almost all local! Counting Crows, Billy Corgan and the Machines of God, Cake (in St Louis), and the last in the current Broadway in Detroit season--The Wiz!

Day 3 of Sonictl Temple was the best yet...finally catching Sick Puppies, Trust Company, and Crossfade (and getting utterly murdered in the pit) was worth it alone, but Linkin Park absolutely slayed! You must hear Emily live! I miss Chester but I adore the current lineup!

Day 2 of Sonic Temple kicked my ass. Making my way into the Suicidal Tendencies pit was questionable, but the Metallica crowd and pit was a terrible, awesome idea! Today is Sick Puppies, Chevelle, Crossfade, Linkin Park, and deepening my severe scalp sunburn!

Day 1 of Sonic Temple was a success, despite 2.5 hours to go 7 miles to get TO the parking. As a result, we missed a couple of bands we were hoping to catch, but I still managed to see tons of great acts: Sevendust, Memphis May Fire, Three Days Grace, Filter, Poppy, Motionless in White.

The traffic problem cannot be overstated, but we finally made it! Let's rock Sonic Temple!

When Ger and I started out, it was a long distance relationship so we talked for a long time before actually scheduling a date. Scheduling with us has never been easy, so we figured out a time about 2 months out.
