Frontline workers approved VTA contract offer. “We are delighted to announce that the members of our largest union, ATU Local 265, have overwhelmingly approved a contract proposal,” says Deputy General Manager Greg Richardson. Read more: bit.ly/3ZSgtLl

VTA has learned that ATU Local 265 will vote on its latest contract offer on Tuesday, June 3. The 4-year proposal includes: - 14.5% wage increases - Enhanced dental benefits - Apparel voucher - Better workplace policies If ratified, it goes to the VTA Board for approval.

VTA’s Director of Multimodal Planning and Real Estate, spoke at the City of San Jose groundbreaking for 200 tiny houses to be built near the Cerone Bus Division to get unhoused people into safe, clean housing with wrap around services. Housing development expected to open by the end of this year.

The Appellate Court of the 6th District denied ATU's writ petition that challenged a Superior Court ruling bringing striking VTA employees back to work. The ruling allows VTA to continue to serve our customers. We are hopeful that ATU will return to bargaining so its members can get a new contract.

Light Rail Service Update: Inspections and repair work continue on light rail lines. There will be potential service on the ORANGE line tomorrow, Monday, March 31 in the afternoon. The BLUE and GREEN line will take longer to resume. Stay tuned for more service updates.

On Friday, March 28, 2025, a phased approach will be implemented to restore Bus and Light Rail operations. Bus service will begin on Friday, light rail will follow when the rail system has been inspected. Thank you for your patience. We are working hard to resume service as quickly as possible.

The Superior Court judge issued an injunction ordering striking ATU employees back to work immediately. More details to follow regarding when service will start.
