The first week of the the “Greatest Elective on Earth”, Culinary Medicine, was a success despite the weather. Students did a recipe creation activity (salmon burgers), cooked low carb, and learned about the Four Pastas of Rome. We also launched our “Dishes Important to Place” activity.

First day of our Culinary Medicine M4 elective (“Greatest Elective on Earth”) obstructed by ice on the roads. Seems appropriate to teach the class virtually in my Frozen Tundra apron.

I fully recognize the world is on fire. And I am very superstitious, constantly worrying that if I talk about anything good, bad things will follow. I’m going to put aside that fear to talk about this book I wrote with my long-term colleagues Dara Garner-Edwards and Melissa Moses.

Surgery residents work long hours, so its important for them to eat. So we taught the residents at Wake Forest University School of Medicine Surgery Residency the "Four Pastas of Rome" Not a noodle was left!
