Tom Brady is doing a commercial for Pizza Hut. While I doubt that TB12 eats at Pizza Hut*, there is a greater than zero chance that he has not had pizza as an adult as it is full of things that are “inflammatory”. *we ate at Pizza Hut last month with some friends. It was chock full of nostalgia.

As part of my resolution/challenge to myself to watch new to me media, I watched “The Forbidden Orange” on HBOMax last night. It is about showing “A Clockwork Orange” in Francoist Spain. Fascinating look at censorship and art under fascism. The coda with young people watching the film was wild.

After my run yesterday, I started making dinner. It was a slightly complicated tomato sauce and I chopped a lot of onions. I just put on my cold-weather running clothes, which I wore yesterday, and they smell gloriously of cooked food.

One of the things that some of the younger nerds will not get to experience is the first time watching episodes of The Twilight Zone on NYE. I loved watching WPIX, staying up, and starting my New Year with wry subversions of expectations. Maybe this is a false nostalgia thing but I do miss it.

It's 8 AM on Dec 31st. I have a plan. Last run, weight workout, spin bike, and sauna of the year on tap. But first... I have to shape the dough for my last loaf of '25 bread and make more dough for '26 bread. Priorities, you know?

My final QotD for 2025 is this... What obligation are you under to read a book written by an acquaintance? I know that buying a copy, and displaying it properly, is important and appreciated but is it insulting to let it sit on my TBR pile?

The Interregnum between Christmas and New Years is always weird for me. I don't do anything work adjacent but then find myself triaging my e-mail on a random Saturday. That being said, back to back calls and having to draft things following the calls was both disorienting & welcome.
