Enjoyed a brief encounter with a humble Scott Mills at NBH last year. Unsurprising to see the usual suspects at it today. You’re spoilt for choice - focus on what you DO like instead! I predict churn, if any, will be minimal and relative to the R2 general trend (afternoons remained fairly static).

Impressed with how iHeartMedia’s LA stations are responding to the devastating fires. Flagship presenters are sharing relatable, reassuring and heartwarming words, both on and off air, and they’ve teamed up with a local welfare charity which is appealing for donations of goods to be dropped off.

Bauer’s acquisition of Clear Channel is a clever strategic move and good for the industry as it continues to explore alternative revenue streams. The two main commercial groups both able to use OOH property to drive audience / subscriptions and agencies can buy streamlined radio + outdoor campaigns.

Tough to know there are radio colleagues anxious for what tomorrow will bring. The day you had been dreading. The career you worked so hard to achieve, the industry you adore and thrive within. Be kind to yourself and remember you are a great creative and / or communicator. This is a new beginning.
