My feelings about the finale tend to yo-yo (although they’re stabilizing at a comfortable “I liked it”) but one thing, from watching it for the 1st time to now hasn’t changed: I’m happy that exists. I felt a sense of closure that I DID NOT feel at the end of s2. And that makes me happy.

If makes y’all feel better, the review bombing seems to be rotten tomatoes specific. 7.8/10 on IMDb 4.2/5 on Letterboxd 7.8/10 on metacritic (generally favorable) I really don’t think the finale is as divisive as certain people want you to think.

I think a lot of people are too cynical (understandably) now for an ending that was conceived over 30 years ago. In a world that arguably quite a bit darker, it’s hard to see that humanity is something worth sacrificing for to save. That’s why this ending actually feels hopeful to me. #GO3Spoilers
