This summer, UJA once again had the honor of hosting summer interns from the Bronfman Center's College Leadership Intern Program (CLIP). Through CLIP and our partnership with the Bronfman Center, interns are placed at Jewish nonprofits across New York City for a summer of experiential learning.

Our hearts are with the families and loved ones of the beautiful six: Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Ori Danino, Carmel Gat, Alexander Lubanov, Almog Sarsui, and Eden Yerushalmi. May their memories continue to be a blessing — and a call to do good in our complicated world.

Yesterday, 20 UJA staff members and CLIP interns visited our partner, Mosholu Montefiore Community Center, to roll up their sleeves and do some good. From restocking the food pantry to serving lunch to the center’s seniors, we had a meaningful afternoon of giving back.

Since the attacks of October 7, the people of Kibbutz Erez have faced unimaginable trauma after being displaced from their homes and having their city destroyed.

 With our partners, including Shames JCC (pictured), Suffolk JCC, and Sid Jacobson JCC, VERVE helps those 55+ stay active and socialize through dance classes, table tennis, yoga, and more.

Bar and bat mitzvahs mark a special milestone in Jewish life. For 11 Russian-speaking Holocaust survivors, it once seemed impossible.

Today, our CEO and UJA leadership visited Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, and saw for themselves the devastation and disruption after an Iranian ballistic missile struck Soroka’s central campus, causing hundreds of millions of dollars worth of damage and injuring 50 people.

Who says camp is just for kids?   We partnered with Trybal Gatherings to bring more than 200 professionals from over 35 Jewish organizations to Camp Settoga for NY Camp Day to experience the connection, fun, and community building that kids experience every summer.

We’re heartbroken to learn that Karen Diamond, Z’’L, succumbed to the injuries inflicted earlier this month during the antisemitic terrorist attack in Boulder, CO. May her memory forever be a blessing.

"Globalize the intifada” is not a call for justice. It is a call for antisemitic violence. At a moment of deepening danger for the Jewish community, all leaders must condemn both this language and the abuse of history it represents.
