How long until I can actually write C# without accidently writing Rust? Oh and I write Ruby and Go at work. So many languages.

I’m not a fan of C# but I really like how basically every question I have about Unity has already been answered. I think Bevy has a lot of potential, but finding answers is like the wild West.

Yeah I’m gonna talk religion. This week’s South Park really nailed it in calling out so-called “Christians” who are just horrible people who use the bible as a weapon. I’m not a practicing Catholic anymore but that’s not the brand of faith I was raised to believe in. Do better.

Had a dream I moved to Canada last night and given current political climates I have to say it’s pretty appealing.

I sometimes wonder if looking at old pictures does more harm than good. I think I need to seriously wipe everything on my phone and iCloud account. Only forward.

Secure Boot Bypass Risk Threatens Nearly 200,000 Linux Framework Laptops
Roughly 200,000 Linux-based Framework laptops shipped with a signed UEFI shell command (mm) that can be abused to bypass Secure Boot protections -- allowing attackers to load persistent bootkits like BlackLotus or HybridPetya. Framework has begun patching affected models, though some fixes and DBX u...

I really wanna try a game jam, but dang I’m nervous. I don’t really have any art skills (never developed them) so all I can really do is program.

I've implemented the most bare bones dialog system for my game and it only took 6 hours. I really wish UI work was easier in Bevy.

I should probably just take a few days and learn Godot already.

I love working with Bevy but I am questioning my own sanity after seeing how easy it is for people to make games with Godot. Rust is nice thought.

Anyone have advice on staying motivated during long projects? I'm not tired of working on the game by any means but it is starting to feel like a slog. Maybe I should make another dev log video to show off what has been changed?

I’m starting to write music for my game and one of the songs is legit titled “The world is crumbling around me but I still love you”, just in case you were wondering if the silly raccoon game was going to contain any cognitive dissonance.

Do I know anyone who plays the ukulele who would be comfortable recording music for a video game? Just instrumental no vocals. Paid.

I have a really silly knockback effect happening when raccoons attack enemies. Not sure if I want to keep it around but it made me laugh and was kind of fun to implement.

These past few months of using Rust have taught me that I really don't like Ruby's ecosystem anymore. I had high hopes for Sorbet but it just isn't as powerful/useful as I was expecting. I'd rather have a compiler and types to help me than a bunch of after-thought bolted-on tooling.

Got patrols, parties, the battle system, and A* path finding all working while staying above 60fps. Ignore the game crash at the end. Now I just need to like... make it fun and less wonkey.
