Food banks had scheduled 94mil(!) pounds of food deliveries through a government program that buys meat, dairy, eggs and produce from American farmers and sends them to help people in need. Trumpβs USDA abruptly canceled those deliveries.

Iβd like to see a comparison of the vaccination rates in each state as well, I think that would be a great extra layer of context

Extremely powerful piece by
@graphics.reuters.com
about the death toll in Gaza. I appreciated how they told the story through people like Mohammed, rather than relying solely on the numbers. Great work β can't wait to see what's next!

In October, Freedom House released its 2024 internet freedoms report, including the scores of five Radio Free Asia coverage areas. I charted them on an annotated bar chart to show the difference between the scores on a 0-100 scale. A map wouldn't have added anything extra, so I skipped it.

A report published by Yale University in August found Uyghurs imprisoned in China have been sentenced to a cumulative 4.4 million years. I analyzed data from the report to produce two infographics showing incarceration rates and the severity of sentences.

This artist made a quilt mapping the distance people travel for abortion access. Having worked on this map multiple times since 2021, it's absolutely jaw-dropping to see it in my favorite medium. The work that went into this. Amazing work, @peach-and-honey!!
