Just finished first draft of chapter 18 of my book, and while I don’t deliberately intend to have much, if any, romance in the thing, I definitely feel like I’m sprinkling in enough moments that delightful sickos can ship just about everyone with everyone.

I’m at a point in writing this book that I need to sit down and make a list of all the things I still want to happen and then sort out how to make it all flow in a satisfying way. I won’t know how much more there is until I do, but I do feel like I’m on the downswing, now? Guess we’ll find out!

Finished writing chapter 17, and I’m officially over 27,000 words. Not quite sure if I’m NOW halfway there or a little further than that? So many concepts that have sat in my brain for years, finally put down on paper, and I’m feeling good about my silly little yarn I’m spinning lolol

God I hope by the time I finish writing this book with my own brain and hands and deliberate choices there’s still a way to get it published and not lost among the slop. Get it written first. Maybe the AI bubble with crash and burn by then idk Anyhoo, picking away at chapter 16

Welp, finished the first drafts of chapters 13 and 14 of my book last night, expanded my outline to chapter 20, and gonna spend a lovely Sunday at the renfair with my friend. Hope to start writing chapter 15 tonight if I’m not too exhausted haha productive weekend!

Took Fizzy to the vet today for flea treatment and a checkup and the vet commended me for how healthy she was for 16! This was the first time she’s been to a vet since she was a kitten so I’m super happy for the report hahah Apparently fleas this year are immune to over the counter meds. 😾

TFW jobs are super scarce and you’ve been living with a low level anxiety attack at all times and then hear back about a light at the end of the tunnel and all your verve for life returns lol

I both very much want to write but also my brain feels like it’s full of bees and I want a nap. There’s no deadline save for my own heart. At least when I reread what I wrote already, I don’t hate it and feel like “ah, this book was written for me!”

Thinking about the serial-numbers-filed-off-not-Dr-Strange movie Dr. Mordrid and how it’s so much of a better Dr Strange movie than any other official one made. Also it stars Jeffrey Combs and there’s a dinosaur bone fight.

Back to writing again and I’m on the last “introducing new characters on screen” chapter and I’m gonna be so glad when this is done cause all the players will be on the board and it’s a matter of just shaking out the rest of the plot lol. Good news is, my beta reader has been loving it so far??

Working on my book again and realized this magical world I’ve made to house a murder mystery doesn’t seem to have cops, but sends in muscley detectives who let social workers lead the way first and foremost. There’s room for improvement in their system but I like this dynamic lol
