Thanks to WomenArt for posting my collagraph Protected. It’s an older print but I’m still fond of it.

I made this a few weeks ago. It’s called Thought & Memory & is inspired by Odin’s ravens. It’s a collagraph that will be on show as part of my Collections project with Jodie Beszant & Charlotte Morrison in the exhibition ‘Charms & Murmurings’ at Ryedale Folk Museum this September.

Lovely to see my piece Hay Meadow shared on Blue Sky. I’m delighted to say that it was awarded the Chris Benefield Memorial Award at Printfest this year.

Yesterday was World Curlew Day & I printed this new collagraph. It’s called Whaup & it represents the light & dark aspects of this beautiful bird as reflected in folklore & its status as a red listed bird. It’s a joy to hear them from my studio tinged with sadness that one day they may not return.

Thanks WomensArt for sharing my work. This is one of a series of hare collagraphs that I did a long time ago. They were inspired by a Seamus Heaney translation of a hunting poem with 72 names of the hare.

Highlights of the last few weeks: hawfinch at Tarn Howes, the dippers on the Ribble, swallows back in Horton-in-Ribblesdale & ring ouzels back on Penyghent.

I had a lovely day in the studio today with the sun steaming in whilst I was editioning Bird’s Eye View ready for Printfest. I could do with more days like that. Even the drilling from the builders next door didn’t annoy me 😁

What a day! Missed my run yesterday as I was in the studio until late so I went this morning before I started work. What a joy to run in daylight & sunshine! I saw dippers too but didn’t get photos. It’s cold but glorious 😊

It’s my birthday today but it felt like it came early! Yesterday I spent the morning with one of my conservation heroes @brigitstrawbridge.bsky.social who wrote the wonderful Dancing with Bees. She and her husband Rob came to visit me in my studio & they brought me these lovely plants that Rob grew❤️

Today was special. I finally got to meet one of my favourite artists @hestercoxprint.bsky.social at her studio in Horton-in-Ribblesdale. We have a few of Hester's collagraphs already, but having seen this one in 'real life' we found it impossible to resist! More here: www.hestercox.com #art #birds

This is another of my recent collagraphs. It’s called ‘Autumn Flight’ & is three separate layers. It will be at Great Print X at Rheged this April & I’m hoping to have one at @sunnybankmills.bsky.social Print Fair on the 1st March.

I’m still getting the hang of Blue Sky 😁 but came across the gorgeous dioramas by @batworthy.bsky.social & wanted to share them. It’s really nice to see something so different & original.

This is my latest collagraph made at the wonderful Ålgården studios in Borås. It’s called A Winter Deceit & I hope to have it on show at Printfest in May.

Today I’m working on two things at once, a collagraph plate which is currently drying after I varnished it & these feather sketches that I made from some of my lapwing feathers. I have quite a good feather collection & it will be helping me on my next project.
