I never really use the Geforce 4 Ti 4200 for the simple reason that Radeon 9000 series exist, but you gotta admit the build quality and how close these came to their own flagship models made them very compelling before those Radeons were released! Active cooling and a backplate!

The ATI Rage Pro (Turbo or not, same card) is actually a fine card if you look at it as an unbiased retro gamer. Back in the day it was a year late for only performing as fast as a Voodoo 1, and initial driver support was awful. But if you want period correct Voodoo performance today, use it.

Many people know that ATI Radeon cards do not support 8bit paletted textures, but very few people know that 8bpt were mostly used to save performance at the cost of visual quality, so most games look the same or better without it, and the faster card makes up for the performance part. Thread!
