Can anyone point me to any recent guidance/research on best practice for the design of the ramps onto raised tables at junctions? How high? Is 75mm enough - it seems small? Any details about the slope and transitions? It’s in a 20mph limit where speeding is frequent. @rantyhighwayman.bsky.social

Ok, it’s the first time I’ve been to the states, and I appreciate it’s only for a night, but it’s wild. I don’t think I’d quite appreciated how much traffic there was, how big the trucks are and how few pavements are here are!

This happened in Inverness - retailers convinced that reducing through traffic and increasing space for pedestrians would harm business, but in fact the opposite would have been true.
