This is progress. I am glad that KPop Demon Hunters is finally starting to convince Netflix that their movies belong on the big screen rather than trapped on the streaming service. All we need now is more Blu-Ray releases and I'd be very happy.

I decided to check out #KPopDemonHunters, and after seeing it, I get the hype. With an effective mix of creative lore, well realized characters and themes, stunning visuals, and catchy music, it’s a film that does good justice for modern animation.

Here's an animatic of the I Just Can't Wait to Be King number from The Lion King. You can really feel Elton John's touch in the number with just how bubbly and fun it is as well as the way Chris Sanders helped design this sequence, which shows in the final film. Great stuff.

I'll be honest, it's a bit fun poking fun at the Lilo & Stitch remake. But if there's one truth that we know: No matter what it does, no matter what kind of watered down, incoherent mess Disney pushes at us, we still have the original to enjoy. That's a story that'll last longer than any remake.

Sean Baker's Oscar speech on Sunday really does ring true and studios should listen. Studios and people should allow films to blossom in the theater first so they can truly shine because not only is there no money in streaming, but films hit so much harder on a big screen.
