I've unfortunately spent most of my time on the Other Site, as all of the Degenerate Gamblers are over there. But I popped back on here to say

While the law is argued in court, the distinction may not ultimately matter much to its customers. “Pragmatically, I think for the retail individual, they don’t see a difference,” said

This is an incredibly niche thought, but do women just have Revolutionary War military costumes in their closet, or what? So many Hamilton videos have popped up out of nowhere.

This has always puzzled me. Technically, the Pope is a foreign sovereign, and a foreign sovereign shouldn't be able to swear or maintain allegiance to another country. But I don't think popes give up their citizenship - do they? Pope Francis didn't give up his Argentine passport.

What, exactly, are they appealing? The order to "take all available steps to facilitate the return of Abrego Garcia to the United States as soon as possible"? If so, what is the controversy for purposes of appeal?

Is the government still required to file daily status reports in Abrego Garcia? I feel like this is the closest we've gotten to appointment television, since, well, before the invention of DVR.

I'm sorry, if a judge used the words "intense discovery" and "no business hours," I think I might die. (Who am I kidding, I'm an appellate lawyer; I would die just hearing the word "discovery.")

Two unserious thoughts about a very serious case (Abrego Garcia): 1. Do they just draw a different declarant out of a hat every day? Is it like drawing the short straw? 2. At what point are they just going to Xerox the middle finger and upload that to CM/ECF?

If some state secrets privilege prevents you from responding to #2 and #3 from Judge Xinis's order, you should assert the privilege. If you don't, that just makes me wonder whether you're doing nothing.
