I'm going to be working on the monster for a while so to avoid me boring you posting endless WIP updates I thought I'd share this: My latest finished piece at the beginning middle and end. I built up the polypore using felt scraps I had lying around, hence the purple!

This piece is special… there’s a story behind it. I went on a #fungi foraging foray in Pacific Spirit park a couple of years ago (which is where I took the pic this piece is based on). The instructor told me lots of fungi react to UV light and if you use some kinds of UV reactive fungi to dye wool..

Excited for this new 11" x14" felt I'm working on... its a different perspective than I would usually do, looking up from the base to the canopy.. a moss covered tree with an interesting split trunk. Next up is the branches. I'm enjoying this new perspective!

This piece sold at the Culture Crawl but its probably my favourite so far... the complexity of the image had me wondering if I might be insane for starting such a project but I was ultimately happy with how it turned out. Moral of the story- Dont give up on yourself halfway thru!
