Fact Friday 🔍 An interesting history lesson on when the first public toilet was built in London in the below thread!

🚰As someone explained in our recent survey, many people in London restrict their fluid intake due to fear of not being able to find a public toilet. 🩺 Poor fluid intake can lead to dehydration which can have serious complications. ‼️Public toilet provision is a public health issue.

‼️Our survey found 57% of people were forced to come home early/change plans due to being unable to find a public toilet in London. 🚽Worries about not finding a toilet can discourage people from getting out and about, impacting their social interaction and excluding them from society.

'Accessible' should mean 'accessible in practice': 👇the passage to the accessible toilet at the end of the corridor is obstructed. ☹️Wheel-chair users should not have to ask for what is a basic service
