The 2025 #RebuildingLives Conference comes to an end with a talk about the importance of mental health provision for people with spinal cord injury, led by the SIA counselling team, with a lived experience story from Kyle Brindle #ThankYou

Session two of today's schedule is delivered by SIA specialist nurse Carol and head of the Frank Williams Academy Kerryn. They spoke passionately about education and sharing our expertise to improve knowledge across the healthcare sector #rebuildinglives

Day 2 of the #RebuildingLives Conference is underway with a wonderful keynote speech from Saffron Cresswell who shared her story with us all 💜 #SpinalCordInjury

And the winner is…. 🥇 Dani Czernuszka-Watts SIA Ambassador Dani shares her lived experiences to raise awareness of life after SCI, parenthood and the inequalities in women's health in an honest, relatable way. An incredible trio to round up an incredible evening!

Finally, it’s the Champion of the year award presented (by SIA staff and trustees) to someone who has raised the voice of SCI, improved access to appropriate care and furthered SIA’s strategic aims. Our finalists are🏆 Trish Brookes Dani Czernuszka-Watts Raquel Siganporia

And the winner is…. 🥇The Aspire Welfare Benefits Team This small team of four supported 389 clients last year recovering an amazing £750,000 in benefits for members of the SCI community. An incredibly tough category – well done all!

Earlier this month our Frank Williams Academy delivered a Good Clinical Practice training day to 13 staff members at DMRC Stanford Hall, the dedicated rehabilitation centre for the armed forces.

Last week we were delighted to attend the @bladderboweluk.bsky.social Symposium in Coventry. Two of our specialist SCI nurses Karen and Carol were in attendance, alongside local support network coordinator Brendan and SIA Ambassador Mo Belal. It was lovely to meet you all #BladderandBowel

Our support coordinator Brendan and SCI specialists nurse recently delivered some in service training to physiotherapists at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. The feedback received was fantastic and there was lots of questions from the attendees on the day #SpinalCordInjury

Play is well underway at Sunningdale Golf Club for our Golf Day and you may spot that we have two players, in all-terrain paragolfers on the green ⛳ Ken sustained his SCI after having two spinal strokes in 2021 and as a keen golfer, he feared he might never play again⬇️

Our inaugural Accessible Adventure Challenge took place in the Peak District on Friday and Saturday. The event saw 18 participants abseiling 90ft from a viaduct and canoeing along the Chesterfield Canal. All in all a fantastic few days of fun and fundraising for SIA #AccessibleAdventure
