In January 2024 we expected 2024 solar new build to be about 513GW(DC). Now we think it was about 599GW (DC). Mind you there is still 65GW of buffer in that to cover analyst cowardice. I expect it'll mostly turn up in identifiable markets, though.

Don’t get me wrong: nuclear is safe, environmentally friendly, resource-efficient and relatively reliable form of power generation. But also an uninvestable one. I don’t oppose purely commercial nuclear power projects which do not ask taxpayers to subsidise production costs and bear the risks.

A very good point, probably applies to many other countries too, including my own.

It’s human to ask for more time to adapt when your market is being disrupted. But slowing down is bad if you are already far behind in the race. Instead of giving more time for combustion engines, incentives are needed to accelerate and not slow down the transition to #electric #transport.
