While I’m quite sad to see my favorite used bookstore closing, I am excited for the liquidation pricing that allowed me to purchase this crazy pile of books & graphic novels for next to nothing. I’ve been a patron of the store since my college days.

The #KnightGarden is ready for its long winter nap. I pruned the raspberries, cleaned up the final weeds, and put down more straw and mulch. We both have earned a rest from the gardening labors.

Enjoying that my older truck has a cassette player and a great stereo. I’ve been slowly pulling out my classic cassettes from storage and blowing off the dust. My truck’s a rockin’ with the most recent stack I added.

I am happy with my first time painting one of these Marvel United board game miniatures. Been a while since I have painted minis. Felt good to be back to painting and I got some practice trying newer techniques for me including shading and edge highlighting.

Finished building the newest addition to the Knight Garden, composter fences. Decided the giant pile in the back of my yard needed to look better and hopefully compost faster now. I did find a huge pile of good soil and compost at the bottom of the pile so that will be great in the spring.

Today was desk cleaning day, so my Inspirational Superheroes (and a villain) got dusted & reorganized. It was also time to add my newest acquisitions which have an appropriate Halloween them (Blade & Werewolf by Night). These heroes make me smile when I glance at them under my monitor while working.

Getting back to miniature painting again with the encouragement of a friend painting with me online. This is my new setup with camera on my work and a tablet to watch my friend. Trying out different primers and techniques to learn and improve.

Anyone else a bow tie fan? My collection has grown to the point I needed to get it better organized. If you are a bow tie fan, where do you find yours? My favorite geeky ties I get from www.etsy.com/shop/dappero... Others I have picked up at garage sales or online.

Anyone else have a local used bookstore you love hanging out in? This weekend, my wife and I traded in a bunch of old books, dvds, and games for store credit and came away with a wonderful geek haul.

List 3 things you can talk about for 3 hours without prep: 1. Fictional worlds I am passionate about like Middle-earth, Narnia, and Star Trek. 2. 80s tv shows/cartoons I grew up obsessively watching that are now ingrained into my psyche. 3. All the amazing stuff my family and friends are doing.

This weekend in the #KnightKitchen, jam season 2025 continued by processing 24 lbs of peaches from The Peach Truck into peach jam and canned peaches. Still plenty of peaches to eat fresh as well. So far that is peach, tart cherry, and rhubarb jams. Anyone else can in the summer?
