Not really that unusual for D.C. to go seven consecutive days w/o a homicide. Happened in May and March (16 days, actually), last September, last August, last April, last March, last January. Plenty of 6-day stretches in there too. No homicides between 7/12 and 7/19 this year.

Trump is nominating Paul Ingrassia to lead the Office of Special Counsel. Ingrassia has ties to multiple antisemitic extremists. He called for X to remove a ban on Nick Fuentes and was spotted at a Fuentes rally, and also appeared at events with an alleged Nazi sympathizer.

Ed Martin, who is serving as the U.S. Pardon Attorney among other DOJ roles, posts, “No MAGA left behind.” This is in response to Trump’s pardon of Sheriff Scott Jenkins, who was convicted of federal bribery charges.

Kingsley Wilson is set to become the Press Secretary for the Department of Defense. The American Jewish Committee and other Jewish civil rights groups heavily criticized Wilson for posting “antisemitic conspiracy theories lifted right out of the neo-Nazi playbook.”
