I am privileged to be invited to a family and close friends meal to celebrate the life of my 92 year old church friend whose funeral took place today. Tomorrow I sing at his celebration service. He wanted bright colours.

I have tried everywhere to find really small onions for a chicken dish & came across these from Ocado. Fresh and then frozen. I'm cooking with them today with leeks, carrots & making a chicken sauce. Will serve to Mum on Thursday with a mash made from swede, celeriac & potatoes.

I still have mincemeat left so I am making mince pies to take to my Mum. The staff who look after her enjoy my little boxes of treats. They are currently partaking in chocolate dipped pretzels and flapjack bites dipped in salted caramel chocolate.

Ofsted are already recognising they have reports with identical comments. I feel for schools who have been inspected recently as they really are the guinea pigs in this new framework. I am a governor at one of them.

It's 7.45am and I am ironing purificators for my church. There is real irony in this as I don't iron anything else. The opposite of irony is wrinkly.
