I just finished Ivy Grimes' THE CELLAR BELOW THE CELLAR and absolutely loved it. Creepy, absurd, and poignant. Recommended for fans of weird fiction with complex themes and lots of voice.

Really enjoying Luciano Marano's GARGOYLE SAFARI. "Struggle As You Will to Rise" in particular was a standout—the sort of voicey, sinister, direct address horror that does a lot with a simple, but elegantly cruel premise.

Legend also has it that Moore met her husband and writing partner, Henry Kuttner, when Kuttner wrote their mutual friend, HP Lovecraft, expressing fondness for the work of "Mr. Moore."

I absolutely loved the majority of the Jirel of Joiry story collection I read through a few years back. A sort of horror bent Through the Looking Glass storytelling with a proto Red Sonja protagonist. Definitely worth a read.

Moore is spec fiction royalty, but she isn't read to the same level as her male contemporaries. The omission of Moore (and many other women) from discussions on the weird leads to a false idea that women were not writing the weird (or spec in general) until very recently.

CHM (or Cosmic Horror Monthly, as I still like to call them) is one of my two favorite fiction mags. Their stories epitomize the brilliance and originality I seek in modern indie horror/weird fiction writers. Great covers, too.
