Tbh I’m surprised that not many game publishers who worked on licensed properties didn’t do like how Lucasarts did it. Like instead of developing a game that is required to released to tie-in with a movie on a short development time, they took a few elements from the movie and expanded on them.

I’m still surprised that we haven’t seen a live action version of the TIE Crawler in Star Wars. I remember seeing the Lego set for it and while I’ve never owned it, I adored it. It’s like a tank version of a TIE Fighter. It is in canon as well, so hopefully we may be able to see it someday.

i will always find it annoying when a game is either in the same genre, borrowing some elements or just plays similarly to another game get’s called a “clone” or “ripoff.” It’s a reason why Quake killed the “Doom-clone” name and replaced it with “FPS” back in the 90’s, cuz it makes no sense.
