LLM Blind Date One prompt, three answers - which model is from where? huggingface.co/spaces/johko... I built a little demo where you give three models (Apertus, Llama, Qwen3) the same prompt and in the end you have to guess which is which just based on their answers. GIve it a try! ;)

What are some ethically good (or at least okay) smartphones on the market at the moment that also perform well? The random crashes of my phone are getting a bit out of hand lately 🙃 I can live with @fairphone.com and Shift phones, just wondering if there are any others I'm missing.

It is unusually cold and icy in Germany since the beginning of the year. Yet I'm still baffled at the inability of most cities to clear sidewalks for people's safety for weeks now. In Berlin the hospitals are even complaining about an alarming amount of people coming in because they slipped on ice.

Feels like Moltbook is yet another proof that humans like to be insulting, especially if they can hide behind something like agents and say "it wasn't me that said it, it was the AI"

I love the field of Web AI! Models running in your browser can solve so many problems about API based approaches and you can build fun things with it already, e.g. this little physics playground powered by functon-gemma: huggingface.co/spaces/webml...

Sundays are (still) for books. Currently going through this one and it reminds me that you never can imagine the horrors of war until you are in one.

In the unlikely case of ever creating an AGI model, I still feel that it would either just dump all tasks back on us humans or be like Marvin from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (or both)

I can't shake the feeling that something is different in the AI world over the last weeks. Feels like no gigantic hyped up shit has been going on, which makes me wonder if AI-Hype-companies (especially OpenAI) are running out of material or preparing an even bigger ugly bag of surreal marketing.

No, it’s that when the rightfully-angry-but-insufficiently-informed masses start swarming with pitchforks & torches, then even the well-intentioned do-gooders have to lay low and do their work out of sight. It imposes a tax on open collaboration. Which actually then tends to privilege existing power

You know what's cool? Discussing data scraping and related GDPR and TOS breaches. You know what's not cool? Going off the rails and insulting people who meant well and did a mistake. I would love to see some more constructive discussion than on that former bird site, but maybe that is my utopia.
