Tried out Odd Burger (vegan fast food) as there’s a location close to the coworking space that I’m working from. It’s a good burger that could use a bit more salt, but the fries are heavenly (and a battered type).

I recently standardized my anime food panel names so they’re now “Eat the Anime: $theme”. I didn’t have to ask them, but I appreciate @tsukinocon.com updating 2025 Shows’ name (previously “2025 in Anime…Food?!”) after they heard about that standardization through my public-facing schedule.

What I think is the unseen chocolate mint kebab/döner Sylvia Sherwood ordered from the kebab guy in Spy x Family. Chocolate shavings, mint flavoured shaved cream, an Nutella inside an Eierkuchen

Our two options are/were: 1. Doing one shared order to save on shipping (especially back when pre-CR Right Stuf had shipping for orders over $250). 2. Waiting till Otakon to stock up on titles we really want.

I did not expect a MHA spoiler from *checks notes* someone’s LinkedIn post about their friends becoming managers.

I also saw an at-con volunteer holding a Mina (🍉) plushie and wearing a keffiyeh on their shoulder. Massive props to them for doing this in an attendee-facing role, but I hope they aren’t dinged by the higher-ups 😭

Starting my Day 2 at Fan Expo; I haven’t been to Chatime for so long that I forgot that roasted milk tea != the pearl milk tea.

Round 2 of the donuts, specifically the tire donuts from Mario Kart World for the Switch 2.

Remade the Kowloon Generic Romance lemon chicken with chicken thighs, while also thrice frying the chicken and microwaving the lemon that we’d juice for the sauce. This take was juicier than the breasts, but tasted a bit burned and had a stronger lemon taste.

Made the Salmon Meunière from Zelda: BOTW and what I think are the croquettes from Spy x Family S3. I wouldn’t recommend goat butter with fish; the butter‘s gaminess amplifies the salmon‘s fishiness.

My mom and I finally found the Spy x Family UNO cards at a McDonalds. (She’s taking that deck, as I already show my love for the show by cooking + documenting its dishes!)

Reading about how Sakura-Con handled idol performance panels: I am surprised that they don’t have a way to handle applications for over-represented panel topics, which does involve *checking notes* adding quotas and up-front rejections.

Haven’t gotten on my Hot Chocolate Festival game beyond Aiyaohno Cafe till now, but here are their two hot chocs that I had over the past two weeks! • Chiikawa MoguMogu Matcha was OK; I can hardly taste the sweet potato 🥲 • Keeping Warm Under the Kotatsu is like drinking a chocolate orange Lindor!

I’m at nwHacks where Jeff from Boba Talks (Seattle-based recruiter) brought some Trader Joes snacks across the border. It’s not my first time having them in general, but the French Onion popcorn and the ghost pepper chips are 🔥

The family behind my go-to bubble tea shop clued me into Chili Pepper House (Indo-Chinese food), where my partner and I got chili chicken yesterday.

I‘m currently at the MunChi commissary after picking up an order. It’s in what used to be the Free Geek building (used to volunteer there in 2016), so I can definitely see the ghosts of the old computers hiding in between the current cooking equipment.
