I saw AbdallahSmash's video on Mario Tennis Fever. And while I strongly disagree with him on Fever & agreeing to a few things that hurt Fever IMO, one complaint that baffles me is that it's not open world. WHY?! It's a Mario Sports game. It doesn't need open world. Not every game should be BOTW

Mario Tennis Fever single player to you: If that means beating Adventure mode, this isn’t for you—it’s basically a long tutorial. If it means beating the hardest difficulty matches and modes with multiple characters, there’s a TON of content here. There’s some serious bite to the difficulty!

Whether you agree with its price tag or not… it’s genuinely refreshing that Mario Tennis Fever actually feels like a complete package rather then a third of a package that we’ll fix in a couple months like the last couple sports spin offs Gives me hope for a future Golf/Strikers game

Honestly I think getting the Switch 1 version of Digimon Story Time Stranger is the best option because: A: It's $10 cheaper B: In terms of physical, it's on the cartridge while the Switch 2 version is a Game Key Card Also you save more space for your memory C: You get the Switch 2 upgrade free

Best part of the direct for me along with the followup to Tokyo Xanadu. I'm still shocked that Digimon Story Time Stranger is coming to Switch 1 as well but. I'm not complaining I'm getting that version regardless. Also like Sparking Zero on Switch 1, it will also get a free Switch 2 upgrade.

So not only are we are likely getting another Game Key Card direct but most of the games will probably get a Switch 1 version that's actually physical that I'll probably get instead. That's what I did with Dragon Quest 1&2, Pac Man World 2 and Dragon Ball Sparking Zero and I don't regret it.

This is big news for me. Not just because the Switch 2 physical copy is a true physical and NOT a game key card, but because I always wanted the Disney Afternoon collection on Switch and wondered why they never did it. Glad we got it now and for both Switches. This makes up for Virtua Fighter 5

The headline claims that Game Key Cards are selling. I'm not saying they aren't selling, but this data doesn't tell us that. Also if you're specifically buying Switch 2 third-party games then you likely have no alternatives to Game Key cards. You could probably pick this apart more, but fuck it.

This data comes from Deku Deals, an aggregator of sales and discounts for physical games. They found that out of 1,070 Deku Deals users who have one or more third party physical games, 735 of them own one or more Game-Key Card titles.

So I did see the Season 5 Finale of #PhineasandFerb Vendpocolypse The Musical and noticed something. Not with the episode itself but with the credits. In the credits they credited EVERY SINGLE animator from Snipple who worked on the episode as well as the entire season. (C)

Most of the games on my favorites of 2025 are mostly Switch 1 versions of Switch 2 games. I am okay with that.

And this is why I tell people all the time: PHYSICAL MEDIA IS IMPORTANT! I'm always looking to physical collections for my games, movies and tv shows since you'll never know when things will go a different way for a company.
