Isn’t it cool watching a gaming presentation and you get absolutely blindsided by an announcement? The excitement, joy, shock, then devouring the trailer and info? Nate the Hate (and other leakers) rob us of that moment. Clicks for their personal content is the priority. Disappointing.

Cool magazine covers…this was the first Mario Party I bought. I rented the first one. I missed out on the blistered palms and loose controller sticks the original caused. 😂

Now we’re talking! Three at once! I better enjoy this moment because it won’t be long until they are tougher to find.

Always nice to dip back into a mainline Mario game, the franchise that turned video games from a hobby to a passion for me.

I debated hard leading up to this release on whether to buy Yoshi’s Story. Most reviews weren’t too kind. So glad I ultimately did get it. Flawed? Absolutely. Fun? It was to me…especially if you limited yourself to eating only melons for max score since there were exactly 30 hidden per level.

Cool magazine covers…Playing this game in 3D was a fun experience. If I remember correctly, this is one where the real game begins after you roll the initial credits. I would like to revisit this soon. It’s been a long time.

Well, it happened…well on my way to a second play through of Fatal Frame 2. Going so much quicker the second time. I guess that’s to be expected when your high level camera is just mowing down the wraiths. No fear this go round!

Playing a bit of Pokemon XD on NSO, this is appealing to me more than I expected! I like the simplicity of the environments and Pokemon designs. Also fun to see which Pokemon make an appearance.

Man, checking in to Pokopia each day to see if any Pokemon were attracted to the new habitats you built the day before is hugely satisfying…and addictive!

When is this coming to NSO?? It’s looked at negatively today by most but I believe when it released it got favorable reviews. I bought it on launch day and proceeded to 100% it. Once I finished I started a new game and did it again! 😂

Cool magazine covers…I believe this is the first Kirby game I ever bought. I had played games in the franchise before but I never felt comfortable with how Kirby controls. Mass Attack isn’t your typical Kirby game. I remember liking it quite a bit.

Fatal Frame II Crimson Butterfly Remake beaten! Took around 21 hours. Loved it. Just like the Resident Evil games there is a strong incentive to play again. Due to what carries over I have started new game plus. Not sure I’ll stick with it till the end but we’ll see! Would be much quicker.

When are we getting Conker’s Bad Fur Day on NSO? 😂 Nintendo Power wouldn’t even mention it. It came out at a good time for me. The N64 was winding down and there wasn’t much releasing for it. I had a good time with it and laughed at a lot of the jokes. Recently replayed, it’s rough.

Jumped into Pokemon Pokopia ready to make some end game progress in my current area! An hour later I hadn’t even left the first area. 😂

Coming to the end, started the final chapter today. Ended up blowing thru this quick because I like it so much. One of the few games I do notice frame rate dips (NS2). Could not care less about it as it does not affect my gameplay at all. Feel fortunate I can overlook and still appreciate it!

Put 3 hours into Galactic Pinball on Virtual Boy this week. The depth of the tables is fun to experience. 4 tables, all space themed. Each has bonuses you try to trigger. It’s not a pinball though, more like a floating hockey puck. Cool to check out this game but a week was plenty for me.

Nailing the fatal frame right before the ghost gets to you and for an instant you get to see the shot you captured…so satisfying! It’s a shame the videos are always so dark on social media though.

My daily routine for Pokemon Pokopia: Look for new Pokemon, make 4 new habitats, and improve the comfort for 4 Pokemon in each area I’ve opened. (Gotta keep increasing the environment levels) Buy any new recipes. Work on quests in my current area. Good times!

Long live gaming magazines! This issue Nintendo Force is focused on Capcom. Slowly reading through these things…one of the simple pleasures in life.

Current lineup, will finish Mario Tennis and Pinball this weekend. Will replace next week with Pokemon Gale of Darkness and Mario Wonder DLC. The fact I still have a ton to play in Fatal Frame and Pokopia makes me very happy. Gaming is good!

I think this will be my last week with Mario Tennis Fever in the rotation. Really happy with what I got out of it. The game of tennis is excellent with difficulty as hard/easy as you want. Fever rackets are a fun feature and are not a win button. Going to end up at just under 30 hrs with it. Two 👍👍!

Has been a while since I’ve had, not one, but two games I can’t wait to get to each evening. They are nothing alike but maybe their contrast is amplifying the fun I find in each!

Checked on my total time played in Pokémon Pokopia thinking it was probably 15 hours, maybe a little more. Whoa! The thing is Pokopia has not been the main game in my rotation since it released!

Mario Tennis Fever…all 100 challenges in the Trial Towers completed! I just kept chipping away at it. But no in-game congratulations or acknowledgment. 😕 Trial Tower is a fun side activity but the tournaments are still the main draw for me.

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake: I really like this series. Your weapon is your camera so taking pictures damages the wraiths. The closer they are the more damage. If you wait until they are right up in your face you inflict max damage, a fatal frame. Good fun!

Games with realistic graphics have their place but I really like when games take liberties and try to do something different.

Resident Evil Village - Rose DLC completed!…started out kind of meh for me but it really picked up in the second half to leave me with a positive experience. Included some fantastical sections I wouldn’t expect from a Resident Evil. Those were especially fun.

Hmm, while I knew I put 250+ hours into Swapnote on 3DS, I DO NOT remember putting 76 hours into Swapdoodle. I mean that’s like playing a lengthy rpg! I would have guessed less than ten hours. Who else used these?

It’s kind of ironic that I love physical media when it comes to gaming magazines. I still subscribe to three of them today. But when it comes to video games themselves, I prefer buying them digitally.

From 1983–1987, ColecoVision was the system I played. I only had five games the entire time—two came with the system on day one. These were my five games. Anyone else old enough to remember playing them? 🎮

Mario Tennis Fever…in this challenge you have to return 15 balls…but you are always running. It’s tougher than you might think! 😂

Mario’s Tennis on Virtual Boy…tennis before Nintendo made tennis easy…faults on serves, hitting the ball out of bounds during play, missing the ball when it’s right beside you, took me several attempts just to win my first match on easy! I think I’ve got the timing down now.

The 19th game in UFO 50…The Big Bell Race. Definitely the easiest game I’ve encountered so far in this collection, rolled credits in 15 minutes, got the cherry (platinum) in 30. 😂 It’s a simple racing game that is actually pretty fun in the short time it lasts.

Limited-time events and a steady stream of new Pokémon mean this game will stay in my rotation for a long time. After a full week of playing, I’m more than okay with that. Jump in and jump out, or deep dive a couple hours, Pokémon Pokopia caters to both play styles!

Gimmick 2 finished! 6-7 hours. Charming but surprisingly tough platformer I picked up. You jump and throw a star to defeat enemies, trigger switches, and reach tricky areas. Generous checkpoints keep things moving. I finished the five worlds with a 55% completion rate.

After watching this trailer, as a single player gamer I feel a lot better about purchasing the upgrade pack. Seems to be a decent amount of content to play through. Heck, in addition, I may just replay the game using the newly added Rosalina. youtu.be/2rt5XAAeBb4?...
