Bouncing between Dragon Quest 7 and Yoshi…gaming is good…really good right now! 😀

Finally decided to move on the world 3 I Yoshi. Still missing 2 flowers in world 2. I feel like I scoured the areas they are hidden but could not locate them. Absolutely love looking for hidden stuff like this. I’ll eventually go back but wanted to experience some success! 😂

Long term 2026 goal is using the Zelda Notes app to clear the TotK map like I did BotW in 2025. Really it’s just an excuse to continue playing this game. It has just about everything I want in a video game. 😊

I don’t know…listened to IGN’s podcast and two reviewers called Yoshi a 6 hour game. I’m at 5.5 hours and I’m still in world 2 looking for flowers. Guess we all play games differently, lol.

Finally finished up Blue Prince. Finished meaning I got the credits. There’s a lot more to solve but I’m good with what I played. Took me 47 hours just to do that! It was at its best when I had plans to execute. There were many runs where I was just meandering, those times weren’t quite as good.

So it seems 😂

If you like Yoshi games but rejected this game based on thinking it’s for kids, you may want to reconsider. Challenge comes in many forms besides death. Like most Nintendo games, kids can certainly enjoy but there is content for experienced gamers too.

Bring back Street Pass! Couldn’t Nintendo add it to one of their phone apps that would then communicate with our Nintendo Switch 2s when we got home? Everybody carries their phone with them.

Come on Nintendo, it’s past time to make this happen.

One of things I liked most about Ever Oasis is how the color popped. It always put me in a pleasant mood while playing.

Another in a long list of games I wouldn’t mind giving a replay someday. Anyone familiar with this gem? Escape room type game…

Sound off! I know many have issues with the Yoshi’s Island games. I still think the original SNES version is the best. But I did enjoy the later games as well.

This was a good rpg, especially if you like jumping between timelines. The finer details have long since left me. There’s an updated 3DS version but I only played this original on DS.

Please Nintendo…for your next remake, port, reimagining, or whatever…do Mario 64 DS so it controls well with analog sticks…please! Anybody with me? Would love to find those extra stars without fighting the controls. This was fun but looking at my save file I didn’t get them all.

Anybody else let the curiosity get the best of them and purchase this like me? Ultimately I did play a lot of Sudoku on it. It also released at $20 so that helped.

Do you ever wonder if gamers in general are in too much of a rush to finish games? We are so focused on getting to the next game we sometimes don’t fully appreciate the current game right in front of us. Sometimes I need to remind myself that I can’t play everything, no matter how quick. 😂

A Saturday with nothing major on the agenda…time to make a little progress!

25-30 years ago I did something dumb. I took all the inserts out of my NES/SNES boxes. I have no idea why. Now I have a stack of inserts that I have no idea which games they went with. It makes no sense. 🤦‍♂️

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream…getting even weirder than usual 😲

I understand why many have issues with Yoshi’s Story on N64 but it has always had a soft place in my heart. I debated whether to buy at launch but ultimately did. I was so glad I did. I focused on only eating the melons (hardest) and had a fun time with it. Save is still on my cartridge!

Finally got my Mii and my wife’s Mii married in game. That was a chore, felt like the game was fighting me the whole way…seemed easier in real life! 😂

I’m at 42 runs in Blue Prince and still trying to find the hidden 46th room (32 hours). Still having fun. So far I’ve never had a run where I didn’t learn something new, even if small. At this point I feel like I’m one discovery away from starting a chain of substantial progress. 🤞

Come on Nintendo. It has been awhile since the last NSO drop.

I see this on my tv and think, oh wow, stunning! I’ll capture it. I then view it on my phone and think what happened to those colors? This isn’t special at all. 😭

Going to try out The Mansion of Innsmouth on Virtual Boy this week. Doesn’t seem like it’s my type of game but we’ll see. Hoping to be surprised.

Man, I would love to see one of the Griffey games hit NSO someday. Will probably never happen for various reasons but I have good memories of those baseball games.

Dragon Warrior was so different than what I had played to that point. You don’t need good reflexes? With enough patience you can keep leveling up and tackle enemy? I was hooked instantly.

June 1996…The N64 and specifically Mario 64 were mere months away. When I think back it’s hard to believe Mario 64 was able to surpass my expectations…and I was really hyped for it.

Of all my NES games, if I was actually going to play through one again on my original NES, Castlevania 2 would be near the top of the list….just to see if I could do it, and enjoy that sweet music!

Doing my part to keep physical gaming magazines alive in 2026! I will never tire of finding a surprise like this in the mailbox.

Not too often that you see Bowser grab a magazine cover by himself. Mario 64 was so popular and desirable that Nintendo Power could devote a few covers to it.

Mega Man II…I was no doubt influenced by Nintendo Power. Mega Man has never been a big draw for me this game sure was pretty!

Thought I would get my old Genesis out to see if it still worked. Got it out of the box and discovered I haven’t used it since I had a TV with RF connectors. 😂 I don’t have AV cables for it, so I wasn’t able to get it connected. The light turned on when I plugged it in though.

What I remember most from Mario Kart 64 was driving up and down hills for the first time. Super Mario Kart on SNES was all flat so adding elevation really made it stand out the first time I experienced it.

Trojan is the 4th NES game I got but the first that I would consider a dud. I bought it on the last day of school my 9th grade year expecting it to last me throughout the summer. I rolled the credits a couple days later. 😂 But I just played it over and over anyway.

I remember picking this up on launch day at Toys R Us and paying $74.99 for it. It was expensive but I thought it was great. The overlay of the map was unique. It’s hard to play the N64version today but back then you adjusted to those controls and had a blast!

There’s something about these blocky N64 graphics I find so appealing!

Ghosts ‘n Goblins…the second game I got for my NES. It was perfect because I wouldn’t get another game for months after this and GNG is a game that was tough to get through. It’s amazing playing today how much muscle memory I still have playing it.

I don’t remember much from playing this game in the 90s but I think I would appreciate the puzzle aspect much more today than I did back then.

I feel like this game is looked down upon by many but I remember liking it quite a bit. Specific memories are gone but what I do recollect is how colorful it was. I wonder if it will make any type of comeback?

After taking a break from UFO 50, I started the 21st game yesterday called Warp Tank. Now over 65 hours with this amazing game and still have 29 games to go. Also recently picked up the overpriced but neat companion guide to enhance the experience even further.

I was always on the brink of buying this, but never actually did. I wanted to but then I would always read you couldn’t enjoy the bright art style on your tv because you always had to be looking at the gamepad. Should have just bought it when we went months between games.

Sometimes you just have to go back. Playing my original NES with my original Super Mario Bros cartridge, using my original controller all from 1987. Different tv though! 😂 I can’t overstate the effect this game had on me.

There’s was a period of time when my granddaughter would come to visit she would only want to play this or Minecraft. I tried to steer her toward Mario at every chance, lol. I’ve come back around on this game. I liked it, then got tired of it, but now like it a good bit again.

Looks like I got the platinum for Tomodachi Life 😁
