This is NGC 2359 in Canis Major, also called Thor's Helmet or the Duck Nebula. Why the Duck Nebula, I will never know. I see no duck here.

This is the Alpha Persei Cluster, one of my favorite open clusters. Unfortunately there was a lot of humidity and thin clouds, which created a glow around the bright stars. The brightest is Alpha Persei, also known as Mirfak.

I've been wanting to take a look at AR4341, the sunspot that was responsible for the geo-storm that gave us Monday night's Aurora. This is the first chance I've gotten, as it clouded up soon after. Looks unassuming, doesn't it?

A favorite of mine among star clusters. This is NGC 457, the Owl Cluster in Cassiopeia. It you're not seeing the owl, it's in flight, and the brightest star is one of its eyes.

5/5: I had seen a lot of recommendations for this novel and it sounded interesting, so I decided to check it out. It definitely lives up to the hype. I couldn't put it down and read it in one day. Whe...

This is a starless image of NGC 281, the PacMan Nebula. I would have preferred to have the stars back in, but for some reason I couldn't seem to maintain the quality. I spent 15 hours getting this and wasn't going to waste it.

A single image of 31 Atlas, that interstellar comet everyone was talking about, on its way out again. I caught it very near a galaxy which I'm about 85% sure is IC 591. Because it was high in the sky and closer to Earth than last time, I was able to get a hint of tail.

This was supposed to be over nine hours of the Flame and Horsehead, but one whole night had to be thrown away due to humidity and thin clouds, and what I kept showed signs of it too. I'll try for a better image of this later in the season.

Sharing this for aesthetic reasons only. This is actually what happens when you set a meridian limit. The mount stops tracking at a certain point to keep equipment from colliding with itself. But the effect is like the stars are falling, and I thought it was cool.

I've also been working on the Eastern Veil Nebula for a couple of very short nights. This is less than four hours of it. If the weather holds I'll work on it two more nights and this won't be the final.

This is the Cave Nebula. It's very faint. It's very hard to image. This is 15 hours of it, which would be a lot for a brighter nebula. I've been processing it off and on throughout day. This version will have to do.
