Almost exactly 11 months ago my entire department got laid off. Since then its been a struggle making about 25% of what I have been. Yesterday I ended a month long negotiation of my pay at my current place and starting Monday I will be in a much better spot at 50% of what I used to make.

By and large I really enjoy living in Oregon. One of the things I really dislike is all the large cons I’d love to go to both as a fan and to network are hours away at best and the best one for that which is on the closer side is being eclipsed by its spin off conventions.

At the start of every year I’ve been telling myself that year will be my year. We are over halfway through 2025, and 2025 might actually be my year.

I have played D&D for 27 years, since I was 8, and I’ve run D&D for 21 years. I play and run many other games but none as long or as often. I will happily try almost any game as long as you don’t pitch it by shitting on the game that has been with me for over 3/4ths of my life.

Republicans in Oregon do this so much that we had to pass a law saying if any legislator has more than ten unexcused absences during their term they are not eligible to run for reelection. With how much that has ground passing laws in Oregon to a halt, I'm glad to see TX Dems doing it.

The most exhausting part of these tech bro chuckle fucks is they are only cosplaying as the tech company that created the torment nexus from the sci fi novel “Don’t Create the Torment Nexus.” What they are calling “AI” isn’t capable of personality traits. It can only badly pretend to have them.

I am excited to eventually play and run Daggerheart and Draw Steel. I doubt either will replace D&D as my go to medieval European fantasy game, though I am open to being wrong on that. I suspect they will go along side Legendary Quest as my alternate European fantasy game.

Thinking about it, it’s been very close to a decade since I’ve gone to a nerd convention of any kind. I went to several in my early to mid 20s and have very fond memories of them. I’m sure I’ll go back sometime soonish.

Remember, one of the reasons he is not in Aladdin 2 is because of the digitizing of his voice. He was firmly against it. Zelda has been very firm in upholding her father’s wish on this. The quote says “with respect and ok from the family” those will never happen.

I don’t understand why having calls on speaker phone in public has been becoming more common over the last few years.

Honestly I have no trouble believing Jeffry Epstein killed himself or that he did not have a convenient list of his “clients”. I also have no trouble with believing the administration lied about a list. I do have trouble believing the DOJ can’t sift through their evidence and put together a list.
