I think I'm experiencing the ol' all my eggs in one basket adage first hand. I awoke to find my novella did not make the long list of the contest I'd submitted it to, and I somehow only have two pending submissions on Duotrope. Time toget back to submitting!

Wow. This poem. Yeah. It just perfectly captures something I have often struggled to put into words.

Today, I took approximately 7000 photos of my cats sleeping in the sweater bed I made for them yesterday. Oh, and I wrote a little bit too. Not bad considering I'm recovering from this stupid gross cold that won't end.

I've started writing by hand when I take a writing workshop, and here's why: 1) I'm forced type up anything worth continuing on with (rather than immediately forgetting what I named the file and never looking at it again) and 2) I use my own handmade journals, which makes me happy.

On my way to work early because I have an office now, and I won't have to eat my oatmeal in front of that one student who gets to class an hour early.

Today, I introduced one of my colleagues to Rancho Gordo beans, and thus, another convert is brought into the fold. I feel it is my duty to spread the bean gospel wherever I go.

I'm currently that good kinda tired where I know I did good work this week and I'm proud and happy to be an educator, but also, my feet hurt age it would be really great if I didn't have to stand up and go catch the bus in order to get home.

How can I be expected to do anything productive when these two are being this cute? Seriously. Cancel my to-do list. I'm going to just watch my cats sleep today.

It's been two days since I posted anything about cats, so I just want to share that something momentous happened last night. Pepi, our former street cat, after nine months of giving him the life of luxury he deserves... SAT IN MY LAP. That's all. My life is complete now.

I highly recommend this workshop for anyone working on CNF or fiction that had multiple narratives. I took ita few months ago and loved it!

Today we went for a walk and saw 13 neighborhood cats, so pretty much best day ever.
