#ZAVACEPHALE IS FINALLY OUT! 🥳 Our first definitive Early Cretaceous pachycephalosaur! (~15 my older than the previous oldest pachycephalosaurs) And the first hand material for the clade! I can't tell y'all how much of a pleasure it was to review this paper! ☺️

Standing under Patagotitan mayorum at the AMNH is mind-blowing; one of the biggest titanosaurs known. Lived ~100 million years ago in Argentina, ~30-40 meters long and ~55-70 tons. Titanosaurs were the late-Cretaceous sauropods—long necks, massive bodies, wide global range. Absolutely incredible!

For #FossilFriday, we're covering the process of winter jacketing in the field! Ever wonder what happens to the fossils we leave behind? They get winter jackets! Not to keep them warm, but to protect them from the elements and local wildlife during the harsh Montana weather.

This #FossilFriday, we got into the recent Spicomellus news! This new dinosaur just might have been the most punk rock yet! 🤘 165 million years ago in Morocco, this dinosaur was literally bristling, with neck spikes, fused armor, a sacral shield, and even a tail weapon. How cool!

Week 7! ✅ Visiting the K-Pg boundary, some really cool juvenile Allosaurus fossils, mapping sauropods and ornithopods, and a great field season crew.

We did it! We just wrapped up the final week of the 2025 field season. The last of our wonderful participants have gone home to their corners of the world, and the staff will remain in Montana for the next few days to fill in the dig sites and retrieve some of the larger jackets for extraction.

Talk about a power crew! 💪 This year, we faced some massive jackets that demanded serious teamwork, brainpower… and a whole lot of muscle. Huge thanks to our friends at Montana Limestone Company for lending your time, expertise, and this incredibly cool machine to help make it happen!

Well, folks... We did it! Yesterday was the final day of the 2025 field season. Participants have gone home, staff are packing up supplies, and we have some big jackets to remove. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to everyone who worked with us this season!

A little late Week 5 recap of field season! Working on Allosaurus toes, removing probably the biggest sauropod femur we've ever found, and getting ready to plaster some REALLY big jackets!

Week Six is done! ✅ The amount of progress we made in each quarry is unbelievable. As usual, we had some equally unexpected and cool finds made by our hard-working participants. We have some massive jackets coming out next week, so we're super grateful to everyone who helped us with these projects.

Week 4 of field season! ✅ Outreach, old friends, and new discoveries! We have some pretty big things in the works, thanks to our incredible dig sites and participants. We can't wait to share these awe-inspiring fossils with you in the future!

Today's outreach really had a...leg up. 🦕 (Get it? Because this is a Diplodocus fibula?) Today, I traveled to Billings, MT for two fossil programs at the Billings Public Library—one for kids and one for adults! Everyone got to hear about the great work we do @elevationscience.bsky.social!

One of the side effects of hunting dinosaurs is exposure to wildflowers.

Exactly 1 MONTH until field season begins! On 6/24, I'll be on my way back to MT for my 4th summer of excavating dinosaurs with @elevationscience.bsky.social! While I miss my family and friends when I'm away, we've got such a great team this year and I'm excited to see what we'll dig up this time!
