I arranged a virtual meeting today with university and city staff about a potential multi-use path to campus. I was wearing a university sweatshirt. This is unusual for me, as I get anxious about being underdressed, but it's the Friday before a holiday weekend, so I decided to try to relax a little.

I mainly teach in the MPA program, but every spring I infiltrate the Visual and Performing Arts program to teach an undergrad course. This year, I have a small arts leadership seminar that will work on a cool project. It's hard to find things to get excited about these days, so I'm way into this.

I've been putting off getting flu and COVID shots, but yesterday I visited the very small classroom where I will be teaching a class of 45 students. That motivated me.

I have somehow lost my debit card twice in the last three weeks. When I get my new one I'm going to attach it to my belt with a chain like a trucker wallet.

Love a foggy night in Savannah.

For almost a decade now, I've known where I'll be just about every Thursday at 7 p.m. (On the air at @wruu.bsky.social). I take a bit of comfort in that.

Lots of dudes in my town are driving around in lifted SUVs with air intake snorkels up front, tents on top, and gas cans and other doodads stuck to the sides. They look rugged, I suppose, but most of them are suspiciously clean. 🤔 Meanwhile, I haven't washed my car in more than a year.

I am pleased to announce that I heard the street sweeper coming and once again I moved my car just moments before it arrived. I appreciate everyone's continued support and encouragement as I continue this important effort.

My Monday got off to a rocky start. When I left home this morning, a Cybertruck was parked in front of my house. But once I arrived on campus, I saw a wood stork standing by a retention pond, which was nice. 🪶

I went to see my 🦐 man today. PSA for Coastal Georgia folks: DNR has extended the season until Jan. 14.

A parent's worst nightmare is available for free in an alley. (In Savannah, an alley is called a "lane.")

Today feels more like New Year's Day than New Year's Day did. Also, I love the beach on cool and cloudy winter days.
