If you want to push back against censorship, here’s some actions to take. Censoring *yourself* is not the way. Please listen to those who are most affected (nsfw artists) and what they’re asking us to do which is not to be silent!

@moderation.bsky.app These new policies directly harm the survivors you claim to protect. You’re promoting a dangerous lack of moderation and making it hard for survivors to consent to what they see here. This is serious. These policies are directly risking lives.

Having to uproot and move to new spaces is actually super harmful for artists, especially those of us who rely on our art for income. It can take a long time to build your following as an artist, and you will have to rebuild it every time you move.

When you're being censored unjustly, I don't think the rational response is to then... censor yourself more to prove a point Make yourself unable to be censored. Speak out. Complain.

The upcoming proposed rules surrounding NSFW art are bad and the Bsky mod team should feel bad. Fellow artists: Remember that even if you don't make NSFW art, rules like these eventually come back to bite us all, especially if we make works about queerness.

This whole #blueskyblackout2025 thing is not going to work. A handful of people leaving for a couple days will not do anything but exactly what bsky wants you to do: Shut up about the stupid ToS they have. You need to complain on here instead. Be loud. Be present. Be an absolute pain in the ass.

We dont need a silent blackout regarding bsky's situation, we need to be loud - support liberty in art, support your nsfw artists. It always starts with us until there's no one anymore to escape their witch hunt.
