I'm shocked at how often papers I review that present research with human participants have no consideration of research ethics. The majority (!) do not present sufficient information on informed consent or have gone through any form of research ethics approval.

For qualitative researchers🧪: I highly recommend, if you ever get asked, to accept being a research participant (incl post-grad projects). Gain experience of what it's like being at the other end of questions. Of the vulnerability of it all: sharing your story with a complete stranger.
