She looked at him sharply, her grin gone just as fast as it had formed. "Wouldn't you want to know what happened if you were in my position? ... Wait, you don't have parents, do you?"

Hannah grinned at his vehemence. "I want to find out what happened to my parents. That means going back to where I woke up. I like white when it's on people."

"Too much." A simple, short answer, and a rare truth. "I'm too young to feel so lost. I have no idea what to do with my life. Have you ever met someone who just felt adrift?" She looked up at him, her nose wrinkled. "I didn't learn a lot of color theory but I don't know if white is a color."

There is. It's hard to let down those barriers, to let yourself be vulnerable and admit it. Or it is for me.

Her own worth was the one thing she couldn't decide. "I don't know. I may never know. Maybe there isn't a clear answer to something like this. Thanks for talking to me about it." Despite how little was seemingly achieved, she smiled for the first time in a long time.

"Is white a color?" Her eyebrows gently knit together, still looking at the ground.

Her dislike of Cienn didn't extend toward her significant other. "Sure, if you're open to teaching me."

A favorite color? She fiddled with her fingers in her lap while she considered the question. "Purple clouds. When the sun is setting just right, and they're stretched over the horizon. That's my favorite color." She glanced over at him. "What about you?"

The bottle slid into his fingers and she sat down beside him. "What do normal people talk about?" Her eyes riveted to the ground beneath her. She, desperately, didn't want to talk about one thing they had in common.

"Uh, you talk to me." That felt like a fair catch.

"I don't know you, but this is really pretty and I think I want one."

Everything you've said, I've thought too. Sometimes I can't stand to look at myself in the mirror. I see a person and I hardly recognize her.
