It's autumn, Norushima-san 🍂🍁 Even though it's 27° (29° with the humidity).... it's 10° above the usual average temperature for October in Southern Ontario

There was a documentary about Indigenous youth living in Quebec, Canada. It showed some of them setting up snares, and they took photos of them to remember their locations. It made me think of Asirpa. If she lived in modern times, she would probably take lots of pictures of her hunting.

I made zaru udon for lunch today 😊 I made kombu soup base from dried kelp. It's impolite to make slurping noises in the West, so it's difficult to eat in front of my coworkers 🥲

We went to Lake Huron. The water was beautiful, but very cold. We swam anyway 🥶😂 The colour of the water reminds me of photos I've seen of Sado Island.

I took my sister to an izakaya in Toronto. Of course, Norushima-san came too 😊 My sister doesn't drink beer, but she tried Sapporo beer for the first time and said, "I didn't know beer could taste good!" 🍻 We tried a fusion of Quebecois and Japanese cuisine: poutine with beef. It was really good 🤤

I took Norushima-san to downtown Toronto.

The first time I ate pudding 🍮 was in Hokkaido, and it was so delicious and creamy. The second time was in Kyoto, and it was still good, but it wasn't nearly as delicious or creamy. I guess the Hokkaido dairy 🐄 makes a big difference.

I made a rice-themed necklace for Norushima-san 😊 I used glass Czech beads called daggers.
