For the past 26 years and counting, Jacksonville has displayed the World AIDS Day Quilt. We stand with the healthcare professionals, advocates, educators, & community partners who are driving progress and compassion in the work to end HIV and AIDS.

This new park is more than beautiful green space and riverfront access. It is designed with health, connection, and quality of life at its heart. In other words, everything my administration is about!

Congratulations to Chief Master Sergeant Harris and the entire Planet Skate team on the opening of their new roller skating rink. Located at 9441 Lem Turner Road, Planet Skate is the first to be built on the Northside in more than 30 years. (1/2)

Our Military Affairs & Veterans Department were in the giving spirit last week at their annual Thanksgiving Basket Donation 🦃 45 military families went home with a full Thanksgiving dinner, donated by Harvey's and collections from COJ Departments and Divisions. Being one of the best military cities in the nation, it's no secret that we are excited for the annual Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday, November 11th. Join us along the 1.1 mile parade route downtown starting at 11:01am and help us honor the brave men and women who served our nation.

This day has been a long time in the making. After years of planning, we were so excited to break ground on the Sulzbacher Enterprise Village. Phase 1 will provide permanent housing and end homelessness for 100 people, with comprehensive health and career services to come in the future. (1/2)

A big part of the Florida-Georgia weekend is the annual Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony held this afternoon.   Congratulations to the Class of 2025: Brandon James & Todd Johnson from the University of Florida, and from the University of Georgia, Sony Michel & Freddie Gilbert.

Just in time for Florida-Georgia, Keane's Tavern opened its doors yesterday. Located at 315 E. Bay St, it will bring more vibrancy to Downtown with live music, karaoke nights, and football watch parties - All of which will give our residents another reason to want to live, work, and play downtown.

What an amazing surprise visit from three young leaders this afternoon.  Shreya Sharma, Ashna Nutter, and Ruby Patel collected over 500 cans of food and are donating them to local food banks!  Through their dance company, they put on a Bollywood show and asked for food donations for admission. (1/2)

It was such a pleasure to be at our beautiful Jacksonville Equestrian Center to kick off the Horses & Heroes Rodeo. Thank you to the staff and volunteers, especially my horse Iron Man for being so sweet and gentle. We appreciate your support and for helping us honor our heroes.

There are only 2 cities in the U.S. that have a dedicated Military Affairs & Veterans Department and we are proud to be one of them. I wanted to personally thank our MAVD team for the amazing work they do every day for our veteran community. I'm grateful for the incredible job they are doing!

It was an honor to kick off the 10 Across Convergence as we host cities from across the I-10 corridor. We spoke about our nationally recognized resilience work, how we're balancing growth and sustainability, and how data is driving our decision making. I love seeing Jacksonville lead the way.

They're shrimp-ly the best! 🏆 Our Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp took home a lot of hardware this year winning both the International League and AAA Championships. We were honored to add one more piece to their trophy case as we presented the Jumbo Shrimp a key to the city today at City Hall. (1/2)
