Today, the Hillsborough Law was introduced to Parliament – a landmark change that will make a real difference for families who have lost loved ones in tragedies. This law helps to put them at the heart of the system, ensuring fairness, transparency and accountability.

The Employment Rights Bill is the biggest boost to workers’ rights in a generation. Tonight, the Tories led the charge to water it down, after Reform UK opposed it. A terrible tribute act following a failing band. When it comes to workers’ rights, only Labour can be trusted.🌹

Thrilled to be appointed a Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) at the Department for Business and Trade, especially with the Employment Rights Bill (ERB) returning to the Commons today.

It was an honour to attend the Service of Reflection at the Minster to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. I had the privilege of speaking with Ken Cooke, whose stories and service are a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedom.

😀Big week in our house – my little boy Robin started at a new pre-school! In Parliament I took the chance to say thank you to the amazing nurseries and pre-schools across York Outer who do so much to support our children and families.

It was great to visit the GoHenry drop-in this week, especially seeing this card as I’ve just got a new cat! Having worked in FinTech, I find their story inspiring. As a dad, it’s reassuring to see companies providing children's bank accounts that offer parents peace of mind on important issues.

Pavement parking makes life harder for wheelchair users, parents with prams and those with limited mobility. This week in a debate, I raised the voices of constituents in York who are calling for action. We need a fairer approach that keeps our streets safe & accessible for everyone.

Enjoyed speaking to Look North about my experience of going on paternity leave this summer, as part of my campaign to improve parental leave for families across York, and the UK. Extremely proud of baby Louis managing to do his first interview at just two-months-old too: a star in the making!⭐️

The government will test the Emergency Alerts system next Sunday at 3pm. Compatible devices will receive an alert with a loud sound and vibration. This system warns of nearby life-threatening dangers, like extreme weather. Regular testing ensures it's ready for emergencies.

A few weeks ago, a family member bought me a gift card so I could pick up some clothes for my newborn and my son, Robin. Within just 20 minutes of purchase, the balance had been drained in another city. It was a frustrating experience, but it showed me how easily this can happen to anyone.

This year marked the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, and this August of VJ Day. People in York Outer were prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice so we could enjoy our way of life today. At 12:00, there will be a two minute silence, and the Lord Mayor will say a few words.
